MARCH/APRIL CLASSROOM UPDATE
Our parent conferences were a wonderful
opportunity for us to spend some time with you and
give you a glimpse of your child in a classroom setting.
It’s hard to believe we only have two more months
together! Our space unit was lots of fun. Our
children are very knowledgeable about outer space,
and shared lots of information with the class. The
children helped to create our rocket, and our mission
control area, complete with headphones, a console
with lots of knobs and buttons to push and space pack
and helmet for the astronaut to wear. They really
enjoyed blasting off into outer space!
We are now talking about the weather – and there has
been lots to talk about with all the rain! The children
have predicted what will happen to a baggie of water
taped to the window. We discovered today that it
made a rain cycle inside the bag! Our ‘egg-speriment’

flower bulbs we planted are blossoming!
Traveling Book Bag – Our traveling book bag has started its journey. The books you’
ve chosen have been wonderful. The children are very proud to bring in their favorite
stories and share them with their class. They really enjoy their special time and their
classmates are always so happy for the next person chosen to take home the bag.
Letter bags- The children have really enjoyed bringing items from home that begin
with our letter of the day. It is so rewarding to see them have such an interest in
letters and the written word. They love to feel like the big kids having ‘homework’!
Thank you (and their siblings) for helping with this activity. The home school
connection is such an important component for learning and so is making it fun!
